Dog Beds:

Beds for small dogs can be great. Since small dogs are so tiny, they run out of energy quickly, and a bed can give them a great place to relax. For the more destructive dog, padded crate liners (not for house training, but for making crates more comfortable) can be great. For the less destructive dog, there are many different options for dog beds.

Many dogs, especially small ones, enjoy there beds more if they have some sort of raised edge because it makes them feel more protected. Just be careful that nothing your dog chews off can harm it; it might be a good idea to have the bed out only when they can be supervised.
