Picking a Puppy:

When picking out a puppy, first be sure to have a breeder you trust. If the breeder does not have the puppy you are looking for just then, you may be able to lay claim to a puppy that is going to be born. The breeder can also be a big help in determining a puppy's personality, so take the time to talk to your breeder.

You may see some of the puppy's personality the day you visit, and you can use personality tests you can find in books. However, the puppy could just be tired or extra-hyper that day. If you can trust your breeder, then you can get a true reading into the personality of the puppy.

Remember, do not get too emotionally involved.  There are millions of other puppies out there who are really cute, too.  Just because you do not see the right puppy on one day does not mean one does not exist.  Be patient and the right puppy should come along.
