Yorkshire Terriers

West Highland White Terriers (Westies):

West Highland White Terriers, also called Westies, are members of the terrier group. As suggested by the name, they are all white. They exhibit common terrier characteristics such as an urge to dig and lots of energy. They can be great dogs for families if trained well, and they usually do well with children because they are not too big, but not too small either.

A normal Westie weighs anywhere from about 15 to 20 pounds, although they could be a little smaller or larger. When they are puppies, they tend to be active, but after a year or two they usually settle down. West Highland White Terriers are sometimes called "hypoallergenic" because they have hair, not fur. Most people with allergies do well with Westies, but it cannot be guaranteed.
